Olhausen Billiard Manufacturing Ltd. came to be in around 1973, when brothers Don and Butch Olhausen expanded their year-old pool table moving and re-covering business by buying out a manufacturing company they previously delivered for. The company went from selling 35 tables a year, to 300 a year within two years and today, sell over 30,000 tables annually from their facility in Portland, Tennessee. Starting from humble beginnings the Olhausen brothers previously worked for their dad setting up and covering pool tables and so this was a huge leap for them both as a family, and as a business.
Today, the business is still owned by the family and they ensure that every table that is manufactured and delivered by them is of the highest quality, encompassing value, class and play quality. They also utilise Accu-Fast cushions, which are some of the best in the business, particularly in the US, set into the finest premium wood sourced in Northwestern US. The lumber is slow-grown, resulting in a tighter grain and minimal discolouring for a longer-lasting pool table.
